Coaches Profiles

Toby Somerville

Toby is our head coach and the owner of Next Level Triathlon Coaching As well as being the head coach of the Bayside triathlon Club. Toby’s passion is helping people take their training and fitness to the level they are aiming for and works with absolute beginners (young and not so young) through to experienced athletes competing at national and international level.
Toby coordinates all swimming, running and triathlon coaching provided in and around the Manly Pool and is also the coach for many of the sessions.

He is a Triathlon Australia Accredited Performance Level Coach who was named Club Coach of the Year 2016 in South East Queensland. Toby Also holds a Bronze swim coaching accreditation. He has been competing in triathlon for 30 years and in that time he has travelled to Hawaii four times to compete in the Ironman World Championships.

Nicola Somerville

Nicola is a Development Level triathlon coach and Try Stars qualified coach. Nicola has also competed at a high level in both triathlon and swimming including racing in the Hawaii Ironman.

Diarmuid Deans

Diarmuid has been involved in Triathlon since 2010 and is an active member of Bayside Multisport, the local triathlon club based at Manly Pool, where, along with Toby, he was instrumental in the development of the club’s junior training program. He is a Development Level Triathlon coach.
